Why does it take two business days to post my renewal?
Business Renewal transactions are posted to our system using a batch posting routine that is processed once per day. When the batch routine is processed, the Business Registry records are updated and the paid renewal will be reflected on our website. While this results in a slight delay in posting the renewal transaction to our website, the renewal is effective on the day that the online payment was made to the Secretary of State.
Why are "cookies" necessary?
This application uses "cookies" and cookies must be enabled. This is the standard setting for most browsers. A cookie file is a small text file created by a web site on your computer hard drive that contains unique information the site can use to track such things as your business name and registry number. A cookie is often used in commercial sites to identify the items selected for a specific shopping cart application. If cookies are used on the web site, their use will be clearly marked. While most browsers have an option that allows you to control the use of cookies, their use might provide some features that cannot be used if cookies are turned off.
My renewal is due today. Will my business registration be cancelled if the renewal doesn't post to your system today?
No. We will honor the date the payment is made.
When I have finished my renewal is there something I can see right away?
Upon successful completion of the transaction we suggest that you print the results page for your records. After two business days you can then go to the Business Registry Database to check for the renewal posting online.
I want to change my assumed business name. Should I renew anyway?
No. Any change in the assumed business name requires a new registration. Forms are available at www.filinginoregon.com/forms
Some of the information displayed on your website is not current. How do I change that?
At the end of the renewal process you will see a link to the correct form to make those changes in Acrobat PDF format. The form can also be found at www.filinginoregon.com/forms
I've already mailed my coupon and check to the Corporation Division. Can I go ahead and renew online now?
No. You only need to make one payment for your business registry renewal. Multiple payments may create an overpayment. Renewal transactions paid by coupon and check are posted with the effective date the payment was received at our lockbox facility.
Is this system always available?
In order to provide you with the most up-to-date information possible, some of our services may be unavailable between the hours of 11:15 PM and 3:00 AM Pacific Time. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience and ask that you check back with us at a later time.
I have multiple registrations I need to renew. Can I renew them all in one step?
In this first phase for e-pay renewals, we are only able to process one renewal at a time. However, in future phases we plan to accommodate multiple renewals.
Is it safe to pay my business renewal online with a credit card?
Yes. At the State of Oregon we use the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer technology to encrypt your payment information. As a result, any payment information you enter online is protected, and will not be used by anyone other than the State of Oregon.
How do I get to the page where I can pay to reinstate a company name?
Go to Reinstate a Business for information and links to reinstate your corporation, LLC, or Limited Partnership. An Assumed Business Name cannot be reinstated. Go to Register Online to file a new Assumed Business Name.
