The Corporation Division is financed exclusively through fees paid by the users of our services. We do not receive any general fund income tax or lottery appropriations. The division's biennial budget for 2005-2007 is $6.8 million and includes authorization for 36.4 staff positions.
The division strives to be a leader in the implementation of electronic government. You may search our Business Registry database for information on all registered businesses. In addition, business owners can now renew their business registration online, using our easy and convenient electronic commerce system. You can also search our UCC database for Uniform Commercial Code information on records of debt. Additional online applications are planned, including electronic filing for Business Registry and UCC, an Internet based Notary education system, and a state wide Central Business Registry to allow Oregon businesses to register with multiple government agencies using a single online application.
The division also operates the Business Information Center to provide information on government registration and licensing requirements for business. The Business Information Center includes an online Business Wizard to provide customized referrals containing information regarding government or organization contacts for your business. The referral list contains phone numbers and Internet links to appropriate forms and information for business. We also offer a step-by-step guide to Starting a Business and publish several Business Guides. All of the services of the Business Information Center are offered free of charge.
All of the division's forms can be completed online and mailed or faxed to the Corporation Division. We accept VISA and Mastercard only for faxed forms. Be sure to include your account number and expiration date on a separate transmittal sheet when faxing your forms.
